Grants
|
The best solution for financing your studies in France is to obtain a grant. The procedure of seeking and applying for a grant should start one year preceding your arrival date in France. Usually the higher the level of studies, the more chances to obtain financial assistance. The student/researcher is entirely responsible for seeking, applying and completing the administrative procedures in order to obtain the grant. CampusFrance does not provide financial assistance, but could assist students with providing information about grants and scholarships available. International students can apply for three types of grants : 1 - French Government grants The majority of them are made available under bilateral agreements between France and the Philippines. These agreements are usually coursed through Philippine universities that are recognized partners of the French Embassy and that have existing MOA with French universities. The best source of information about eligibility and application procedures is the French Embassy/Consulate close to your place of residence. Two French organizations are mainly managing the French government grants: the CNOUS – the Student Welfare Service at the national level and EGIDE – the International Centre for Students. For more information about scholarship grants, you may contact the Cooperation and Cultural Affairs Section of the French Embassy to the Philippines by sending an e-mail to culturel@ambafrance-ph.org. 2- French University Grants Some French institutions offer scholarships to deserving international students. It is up to the student to ask for information on this while pursuing his or her applications in the different universities. 3 - International and non-governmental grants The lists of grants or scholarships can be found in the UNESCO brochure Studies abroad. As a grant-holder, the student must meet a number of obligations; among them: - impossibility to hold two grants whatever their origins
