France has a large variety of public and private academic institutions that offer short and long-term programs, award general and/or specialized diplomas and degrees that mirror your level at each stage of the academic path.

SHORT-TERM DEGREE PROGRAMS

They offer generally two or three years specific career oriented programs that allow students to enter the work force or to transfer the credits into a long-term degree program.

The most popular teaching areas are Communication, Technology, Electronics, and Services. They include mandatory internships.

The short degree programs are taught in multidisciplinary institutes affiliated either with universities (Instituts Universitaires de Technologie – IUTs) or in specialized schools.

LONG-TERM DEGREE PROGRAMS

They are university,"grandes écoles” or specialized schools programs. Most of the time, the studies are four or five years.
